When I attempted to purchase parts for my 50cc dirt bike I found out about HR4040 that bans all production of kid's motorcycles because there is lead in the materials used to construct its components. Last time I checked, I haven't seen any kids chewing on motorcycles! This law is extremely broad and needs to be rewritten with certain exceptions. It is going to put many small companies out of business, especially in these tough economic times! This law will not only effect the selling of kid's motorcycles, it will extend to everything that is made for kids. This will include handmade toys to handmade baby clothes. In theory, the law is a good idea to keep bad products out of the U.S. which are made in other countries. However, the regulations are unreasonable. This law will drastically affect small business in the U.S. and needs to be amended to promote economic growth.
