The 13th Amendment of the United States Constitution creates an issue which has led to devestating consequences for African Americans who are criminalized. We as the United States boast about being the land of the free however we have the largest incarceration rate in the world and our prison rate is increasing every year. Many of the people in jail are serving life without parole for nonviolent crimes and a large portion of people being incriminated are African Americans. The United States spends more money investing in prison systems then education its people. It is time that we recognize the injustices happening within our society and by signing this petition you can begin to make a difference by demanding to change the 13th amendment.
