This needs to stop. We need to stand up for our babies that can't speak. They are the innocent victims. We need to set new rules to protect them, not kill them.

Please change these laws for animal abusers. As you may know Jeffery Dahmer killed and abused many animals before he started killing humans!! If these people will intentionally abuse or kill an animal they wouldn't think twice about doing it to a human!! Animals can't fend for themselves and we are there voice. Please consider harsher punishment for the crime that fits the criminal!! They are evil and deserve jail time for their behavior!!

Mississippi needs to have a stricter and more punishable law against animal cruelty. The way one treats animals is a direct link to how they treat other people. One who has no compassion for animals should not belong in our society as they do not possess any compassion or animals at all and will sooner or later move on to hurting people. It is a shame that the one thing circling the news in MS is the state flag that no longer has any symbolic meaning other than the independence of MS, rather than people and the congressmen elected in MS making a law against animal cruelty that is more punishable than a simple fine of $327 or, in the case against the puppy mill people in Alcorn, MS last year, a simple fine and words from a judge saying they cannot own any more pets. Do you think our law enforcement can enforce that? No. They are focused on other crimes. MS needs to get it together and join other states who have more punishable laws against animal cruelty.

Our animal cruelty laws are so weak it is criminal! When the FBI considers animal cruelty a felony, shouldn't we? Please make our laws tougher so that people who abuse animals receive fines and jail time!

We are the care givers for animals. They can't fight to their lives. There should be a more severe punishment for animal cruelty because it is a life people are destroying.
