Dr Conway and Dr Collinge are inspiring teachers. I feel so grateful to have learned so much from them about Social Justice and Compassion. I would not be where I am today without their moral compass, knowledge, and openness. It is such a shame that debt created would be shuffled to former and current employees. The financial situation of the Mount is however, not surprising considering the opulent bronze statues and useless projects the Mount spent money on after I graduated. I will not give money to the Mount to pay for mistakes made by an institution I am still in debt to. Where did my tuition go? 'Higher' education must change, but but taking back promises and health plans of retirees is not the way to enact change or save an institution.

This is wrong and goes AGAINST everything I learned about social justice and Catholic teaching at the Mount.

President Newman, the decision to cancel retiree's insurance is unconscionable and must be reversed, immediately.

Our Blessed Mother takes care of her children. Our Lord stands by his Word. If Jesus and Mary want the University to survive, there is a Jesus and Mary way to do it.

Always proud to support the amazing professors who so deeply blessed my life! Praying for a change of heart to all the men who made this decision.

I have yet to make a donation to the Mount, my home, this year. I fully intend to do so, as it was because of the generosity of those who came before me that I was able to have the rich experience that I did. That being said, I will not make said donation until communications and the actions mentioned in the petition occur. My experience was what it was because of professors and those who worked behind the scenes for what, compared to many tenured professors, must have been a pittance. I am so disappointed in the institution from which I learned what it means to be community. This is not how a community solves problems.

May God bless the Mount with both compassion and wisdom.

The Catholic Liberal Arts identity of the Mount is its main selling points. This was the reason for its creation. As a Catholic Liberal Arts high school teacher, I know that this is deeply sought after all across the country. The way to bring in more students is not by diminishing the Mount's Core Values.

Financial constraints are not caused by dedicated employees who have worked loyally for an institution. Retirees have a right to to live to assume promises made to them will be fulfilled.
