We the concerned parents and citizens of Franklin Louisiana are wanting our public pool restored and re-open which was closed under the administration of the formal Mayor Sam Jones administration.Data from USA Swimming indicate that 70 percent of African American children, 60 percent of Hispanic children, and 40 percent of white children cannot swim. Children who cannot swim are more likely to drown. Our children are resulting in utilizing bayous & beaches and even sometimes flooded streets when hard rain occurs. We are concerned for our children. This will also allow something for or kids to do during summer months when the temperatures are heated.
