AAG says NO to gas terminal in the Gulf of
Trieste and surroundings.

AAG is against the building of gas terminals in the Gulf of Trieste for reasons
that it will bring large negative impact on the environment of the northern
Adriatic Sea and it will bring detrimental effects to all three bordering
countries (Croatia, Italy and Slovenia).

A gas terminal would bring damage to the sea habitat due to the cooling down
and pollution of the sea waters and devastation to its fauna.

Safety, is a serious issue: risks of on-shore accidents and/or terrorist
attacks as well as a threat to the approching (oil tankers, domino effect -
fire explosions) would require the mandatory militarization of the whole area
of the Gulf of Trieste. Consequently bringing a large economical damage to sea
industry, fisheries, sea navigation and tourism.

The Gulf of Trieste is already under heavy threat due to one of the most
important mediterranean oil terminals that occupy the city industrial area. The
attack to the oil terminal of the year 1972 was devastating; for this reason
AAG cannot allow the creation of additional hazardous risks to the environment
and to its population.

The Adriatic Sea cannot and it should not become an European’s energetic
region!! Environmental, health and their safekeeping are also local civil safety
rights as well as of all inhabitants residing in the Gulf of Trieste and
neighbouring countries.

AAG nasprotuje izgradnji plinskih terminalov v Tržaškem zalivu zaradi velikega negativnega vpliva, ki bi ga le-ti povzročili v severnem Jadranu in s tem onesnaževali vode vseh treh obmejnih držav (Italija, Slovenija in Hrvaška).
Plinski terminali bi močno vplivali na morsko okolje (ohladitev in onesnaževanje vode) in bi povzročili nerešljive varnostne težave (tveganje nesreč in/ali atentatov tudi na tankerje ter s tem uhajanje plina in možnost požara in eksplozij), kar bi pomenilo, da bi zaradi tega morali militarizirati celotni Tržaški zaliv, kar bi povzročilo veliko ekonomsko škodo (turizem, ribištvo, navtika). V Tržaškem zalivu se že sedaj nahaja najpomembnejši naftni terminal Sredozemlja (ki je doživel razdiralni atentat leta 1972), zato ne moremo dovoliti, da se že obstoječim tveganjem dodaja še nova tveganja. Zaradi določenih že obstoječih industrij v bližini (železarna, kisikarna, naftni terminal, idr.) je lahko ob nesrečah izredno velik domino efekt (Seveso direktiva).
Jadransko morje ne sme postati evropski energetski pol na račun okolja in pravic lokalnih prebivalcev!

«AAG si oppone alla costruzione di rigassificatori nel Golfo di Trieste per i gravi impatti negativi che essi avrebbero sull'Adriatico settentrionale inquinando le acque di tutti e tre gli Stati confinanti (Italia, Slovenia e Croazia).

I rigassificatori influirebbero fortemente sull'ambiente marino (raffreddamento ed inquinamento dell'acqua), creerebbero problemi di sicurezza irrisolvibili (rischio di incidenti e/o attentati, anche alle navi gasiere, con fuoruscita del gas e possibilità d'incendio), il che significherebbe che per questo motivo sarebbe necessario militarizzare l'intero Golfo di Trieste, causando anche gravi danni economici (al turismo, alla pesca, alla nautica).

Nel Golfo di Trieste c'è già il terminale petrolifero più importante del Mediterraneo (che ha già subito in attentato nel 1972), e non dobbiamo quindi permettere che al pericolo già esistente se ne aggiungano di nuovi.

Il mare Adriatico non deve diventare un polo energetico europeo a spese dell'ambiente e dei diritti delle popolazioni locali!»
