Any civilised Republic should ensure safe, warm, suitable, affordable homes are a priority. It is often overlooked that our older people have different needs than younger folk. This should not be a battle for funds between younger and older folk - the basic need for a suitable home must be a fundemental human right. It is scandalous that our older generation should have to endure the trauma and indignity of competing aginst others for increasingly scarce affordable and suitable homes. Well done Alone for highlighting this often hidden aspect of the homelss problem.

Society needs to address these needs and push the issue in the face of our democratic leaders. Unfortunately, Governments are slow to deal with minority issues

Our own people are been thrown aside by the powers who be, especially our elderly who've worked all their life, paid their taxes to line the pockets of the government, & this is how they are treated,!!!! THIS HAS TO STOP, We need to keep our elderly safe, warm, & not left hungry,
