Hi! My name is Allura Williams, and I want to be your SBA President! I strive to be someone you feel comfortable with guiding you during your time here! If given the opportunity, I will be a zealous advocate and fierce leader!

I have extensive previous experience in the role of being an executive board President leading upwards of 300 people. On the campus of University of Detroit Mercy, I founded and was the chapter President of the first IGNITE National Chapter, which strived to create spaces for women in the areas of policy reform and politics. We held campus events and did service across campus for the students. I was also the Chapter President, of Delta Sigma Theta Sorrority Inc. Delta Psi Detroit citywide Chapter. Through this organization, I was able to create events and service projects across campus that allowed students to have fun and seek knowledge. Lastly, I am currently the current past President of the Michigan Conference Young People's Division, a group that works to foster a relationship between youth and God. Through fellowship and service, we work together creating joy in our neighborhoods and in our hearts. My time as an executive board member on these many boards has given me the ability to know how to create change and know what events spark camaraderie amongst each other.

Before law school, I spent my time as an advocate for youth and helping in the housing crisis. I worked as a Legal Assistant for Lakeshore Legal Aid assisting those in immediate housing need by helping them to get legal assistance as well has housing funds and resources for relocation. During my time at Lakeshore Legal Aid, I was allowed to have many leadership opportunities by training other legal assistants and creating processes for my complete team to allow them to work more cohesively. You can read more about my story in advocacy in the Legal News Student Spotlight in the Archives for September 5th 2023!

It was truly a pleasure to serve the community in these aspects, and I look forward to serving you as well!
