This should be already in their constitution and if it isn’t then they are violating women’s rights under Sharia Law as well as Secular Law. This has to change immediately and rights incorporated ASAP. No need to have a 1 year dialogue or review on it. Just include the word women alongside men re voting.

I raised this issue in Leicester Jamaat seven years ago and although we are in the west but the ruling family of Leicester Jamaat were from a remote village in Africa they fought against it. Things then did change later with the first woman (assistant) secretary elected in Leicester 2 years ago but it has only come 100 years too Late! KHOJA MEN firsly know that none of the prophets family had an ounce of khojaness in them including the living Imam who will come to obliterate annihilate and shred your ignorant constitutions to pieces which allow only khojas (which is racist) and only men (which is sexist) to vote. Wake up and follow true Islam and dont impose khoja religion on us. We are Muslims first then we are Shia and then Khoja, get the order right!

I hope it extends to not only the right for women to vote, but also abolishes the restrictions around women voting e.g. Women are classified as the additional or second vote when married
E.g. Due to membership finances women are restricted as they not be the breadwinner
Just giving women the right to vote with many caviats and restrictions is still not equal and needs reforming asap

I am shocked reading other comments - maybe someone is playing foul. Women should not be fighting for a right that Is theirs - we are all equal! It’s about time they are allowed to vote and also are able to stand for any position in the elections. It took NY Jamaat decades but finally they have equal rights - Alhamdulillah.
