Islam is a religion that is fair to both the genders. No one gender is better than the other.

I’d go so far as to say without our mothers sisters and daughters the legitimacy of any elections or resolutions is highly questionable.

Equal rights for women. If the women in Pakistan can vote than its only fair women in West should be entitled to vote

An injustice that has long been excused by bureaucratic procedures that can easily be remedied.

This is a very sad reflection of our community that we have to petition to allow our women to vote which is a basic right.

Slm alaikum. I don’t think this conversation should be just about rights to vote but also a full inspection into many marital committees where women are forced to remain living in abusive relationships for many reasons, one of which is children. The women are not getting unbiased support to help truly identify issues in a marriage that can help save the Marrige. This conversation should be more holistic. Even if our women are given a voice, unfortunately the voice will be ignored within the society and culture that we all collectively are allowing. This change in mindset is not a one person job or an individual community job. This is a holistic change in mindset that every single person within the community both male and female need to reflect on and consider. Until we as individuals have a good think about our own views and our behaviours then having a woman in a leadership role or allowing women to vote will still continue to mask the many challenges and lack of justice that women face.
