Please consider the importance of this critical requirement and increasing backlog of new drivers that will be an overwhelming burden to the license office if we only wait for in-person appointments. In addition, the importance to provide a safe distance alternative.

It 's a mad scramble to get an appointment for obtaining learner's permit and folks need to drive 100s of miles (!!) to find DOL location ! It is an unnecessary pain and disappointment to the young learners to wait endlessly for the start of practice ! This simple remedy will ease the pressure for all parties concerned, including the DOL. Please issue instructional permit NOW !

This closure is going to cause many pre planned actions to ba cancelled due to not being able to obtain a permit.

PLEASE consider allowing for non-photo permits or allow us to upload a photo for their file If issuing a permit. Please consider a different method to apply for a learners permit during this pandemic—these are unique times and it requires traditional methods to change. We have tried every day to schedule an appt online and there are ZERO openings at any location—there are no spots available in sight on the calendar. Our child has already taken the drivers course. It could be over a year before she can move forward and get even a permit. She’s not able to drive and we feel she is not going to retain what she has learned in her class if she doesn’t get hands on experience driving. For their safety and knowledge in learning safe driving skills, these kids need to practice. They need to drive so that we will have good drivers on the road. Why not allow us to submit a passport quality photo online that can be added to her record or a database? At a later date, she could get a real ID when operations at the DMV return to normal. Even if the offices reopen at some point, it will be months or a year before she can get in the door with so many people waiting. Please consider a different method for obtaining a learners permit, For our safety and for theirs...
