It is a disgrace that this flag was taken down. The mayor should be ashamed of herself!!

I am beyond disbelief that a flag, representing and honoring fire fighters could 1) in any way be offensive to someone and 2) be allowed or ordered removed . These men and women may just save your life, your parents , siblings or friends lives! Seriously people will find anything and any reason to be offended these days and it is out if control . PLEASE REPKACE THIS FLAG! I am offended , as a friend of firefighters, that their honor has been allowed to be degraded this way! Shane on the town for allowing its removal!

I have been a firefighter for 36 years and have NEVER heard of anything so ridiculous. The thin red line is not offensive to anybody and if someone says it is, They are full of crap. Do not give in to the idiot mayor. Stand your ground and keep fighting brothers and sisters.

Bull crap they would do that

the person who whined about the Firefighter and Police memorial flags is petty. How can the city allow protesters to potentially delay the response time of an ambulance by maliciously blocking roads, but find memorial flags a priority to remove ?

Please Continue to allow the Firefighters Memoral Flag to continue to fly high in Honnor of all those that have been there for us when in need. I will continue to pray for all our Hero’s Madam Mayor the only word that comes to my mind for you is you are a disgrace and not somebody that should holds a public office !! Why now ??

Let the Flag Fly. Newton needs a new Mayor. One that is for ALL the people of Newton not just a select few.
