Toddington in the past few years has lost a number of business and public houses.

In recent times however, a number of new businesses to their credit have opened up in what are still difficult times, one of which is the Hardware Cafe giving the villagea much needed venue for people to be able to go to all year round.

It has comfy furniture to sit on and is a pleasant surrounding to enjoy a light snack and or a cup of coffee or tea.It is used by families, our older residents and as a meeting place for many.

It is also used by people outside the village and business people passing through. It brings welcome employment opportunities and helps other businesses. Like most cafés these days it has when weather permits a small table and chairs so you can sit outside in the warmer weather.

Because the front is a bit of sun trap an older resident informs me he likes to takes his morning coffee outside in the pleasant summer sunshine. That small pleasure has now sadly been removed by officialdom.

We ask you to support this petition and to ask the relevant authorities to review their decision and take into account the needs of the local community who use and openly want this falcilty to be a success which goes for all the new enterprises in the village of Toddington.
