The recent shooting in a Connecticut school, as well as shootings at other public places across the nation has shown us again how deadly "gun free" zones can be to our citizens. Our Texas schools are especially easy prey as evil minded  persons are well aware there will be no one in that "gun free"school who can stop them. They will have complete life and death control over your daughters and sons, your wives and husbands, while they themselves are safe in a "gun free" school. Texas Peace Officers are some of the best Law Enforcement Officers in the world. They are highly trained and dedicated to protecting Texas citizens. Many of them would willingly lay down their lives in order to protect those innocents, but, they can not be everywhere, and experience has shown that even just a few minutes of wait time may be the difference between life and death for innocent children and defenseless citizens. However, there is a way that law abiding citizens, including teachers at our Texas schools, might be able to stop or at least limit the damage such an evil minded person might attempt. That answer is to allow competent and trained school employees to carry a concealed firearm inside our Texas schools. We are not asking for every teacher or employee in our schools to be given a firearm,instead, we are asking that every teacher and employee who has or obtains a Concealed Handgun License be given the option to carry on school property
