Sunday 29th July

So my Rifle and all of my shooting kit has been taken away by Elizabeth College following an incedent after the imperial meeting and therefore the school trip had ended. This therefore mans they are stopping me from shooting the Guernsey summer prize meet jersey summer prize meet, european longrange in october and also the Palma as part of the Channel islands team at the begining of next year.

On Sunday the 29th after the school trip had finished, I took a trip up to the Peak District to have lunch with my Girlfriend as she had a day off between her two gold DofE expeditions. I left at 8:30 and returned at 19:00. I had notified both members of staff Jez Willain and Rick Le Page that I would be off site on the 29th, I did not have to do this as the school trip was officially over. (See parental consent form) Further to this, both myself and Rory entered as Guernsey Rifle Club members so were not representing Elizabeth College, Jez was made aware of this. As well as being booked in our own accommodation not places booked by Elizabeth College

Previously I had told Rick Le Page that I may or may not be able to come to the armoury to help with the loading of the firearms but that it was dependent on traffic as my original plan was to travel to lymington to collect some kit my girlfriend had left there at a friends house previously. I will add that this was not required as i was no longer on a school trip and I did not have to report to the staff members (See annex C) even if it had been during the week of the imperial as they were there for assistance if needed. "will not be run as a school trip" - Annex C, Staff. I was not contacted at any point throughout the day of the 29th and when I returned to Guernsey on the 30th I apologise to Rick Le Page for the misunderstanding. I understand it would have been courteous to inform him on the day of my departure, however, as the school trip had ended on the 28th.

I feel that this is completely unfair as the school trip had ended on the Saturday 28th and this had taken place on the Sunday 29th. Therefore I had no obligation to be at Bisley any longer, highlighted by the fact that Luke Malcic drove to Portsmouth on Sunday morning to get a ferry, so i assume his rifle access will be being removed as well as mine ?

Sincerely

Matthew Le Vasseur
