The times they are a changing. Its a pandemic and the island demographic is getting younger and more people are living here full time. PET hens have been here about a year without any one noticing-there has been no negative impact, only the upside of fresh high quality eggs and the joys of pet ownership.

Urban areas across the US and Europe, even Mercer Island allows hens but NO ROOSTERS which means no crowing or breeding.

We the undersigned respectfully request that the Hat Island board of trustees and the ACC exercise their authority to allow PET hens as an exemption of CCR #12 which reads " No animals, livestock or poultry of any kind shall be raised, bred or kept on any lot, except that dogs, cats or other household PETS may be kept, provided that they are not kept, bred or maintained for any commercial purpose.

Under CCR #19 "The Architectural Control Committee shall have discretion to allow exceptions to any provision of this document"
