I feel so strongly that elementary aged kids NEED to be in school. They are not able to virtually learn on their own. We are a household of 2 working parents and I don't understand how you expect this to work. Moreover, there are so many single parent homes where adults do not have the option to work from home - what about these children who are not old enough to care for themselves?
Please reconsider your decision and allow elementary aged children to opt-in to in school learning.

The data shows that kids are essentially zero risk from Covid, flu is much more dangerous. There is also converging evidence that kids do not function as Covid vectors to adults.
Teachers under age 60 also very small risk, similar or less risk than driving to school each day. Finally, virtual learning is an oxymoron, particularly for elementary school and even more so for the underprivileged. In person schooling is the most essential activity we can do.
