Allow Memorials at Sileby Cemetery

These people are grieving the loss of their tiny little boy. How heartless can the council be? What harm it it doing if they make their littles boys resting place a brught place

No one has the right to stop you from adding memorials to the plot YOU have paid for.

Choosing how to remember a loved one, and how to make there resting place special and personalised for there child should be the parents descison. Please don’t take one of the few things they can still do away from them. ❤️

Taking away people's memorials is going to cause more pain than letting them be

If a grave is being looked after it shouldn’t matter how many ornaments there are have some respect

My dads grave is at sileby cemetery and his grandchildren have put there own little things on his grave for him birthdays ect.

Leave the displays alone, keep family memorials personal

I fail to see how a few ornaments to remember loved ones can affect safety. Brightening the place up to make visiting a more pleasant experience is surely the most important thing (especially for younger visitors). Losing a child has to be the worst thing a parent has to go through. Please don't take away the only way of making memories from already grieving families.

The only thing us parents of angel babies can do for our angels is make their little "forever beds" beautiful for them. Please, allow for the little ones to have this last gift we can ever give them.

The family should be allowed to remember and celebrate Noah's life how they want and if that is by making his special place colourful and pretty then it should be allowed, it's also a lovely way for his siblings to share his memory as well

Fully support this. It's a child's grave, it is not offensive in any way. It is neat and maintained. You should be allowed to have beautiful memorials like this!

keep for all the familys its a place to be safe and secure and still celebrate a persons life young or old

Any excuse to save money on maintenance because our council couldn’t measure a lawn mower when the plots were sold. Who are these unelected officials that make such mundane decisions encroaching on people’s personal grieving, whilst neglecting important ammeneties like the conditions of roads and footpaths? What an unreal world we live in where this was even on someone’s agenda. They should be accountable for littering on people’s graves for leaving those silly notices on our loved ones’ memorials. The council are supposed to work for us, not against us. It is apparent that they do not represent the majority.

The decoration on graves brings comfort to the bereaved and grieving is part of the natural healing process

I am signing this petition as I find it absolutely astounding that bereaved families are being told they can't place keepsakes and memorials to their loved ones resting place. I am very lucky my council allows it, it brings me some kind of peace that I can express myself, please allow this for others

Please could you reconsider this decision , it is hard enough to bury a child , yet not to be able to leave small mementoes of Christmas / birthdays , thoughtful little toys on your child’s grave is an abomination of the worse kind . Till you have walked in the footsteps of loss , you will never truly understand what a significant little toy on a grave means to a parent . Kind regards Gemma reed
