For most, the natural event, The Great American Eclipse is a once in a lifetime chance to see something amazing. This petition serves as an official request to the Mayor to close government offices on Monday, August 21 for the Great American Eclipse.

All area schools are closed, already putting a strain on those employees with children who will have to most likely not be able to come in, and according to most outlets, traffic will be a mess as people travel from all over to catch a glimpse of this once in a lifetime event. An event like this is best shared with family and we would love to see the Mayor give the government employees the day off to share it with them.
