Josh Propst is the most responsible, dedicated and diligent young man that I know. He would be an incredible ambassador, representing Randolph College in France. I would request that you re-evaluate your initial ruling, and let this incredible young man follow his dream and, in turn, bring accolades to your college.

Josh, would be a credit to Randolph College in the foreign study program. I'm aware he had some academic issues in the past because he tried to take on to much. I'm sure if you check with his current professors, you will see a completely different academic grade based on his studues to date.

I would like to ask for you to please reconsider your decision about Josh Propst studying abroad in France for one semester. He has loved the French language and culture for so long and has always very much excelled in his French classes. He even attended a three-week French camp one summer where the students could only speak in French the whole time they were there, and he loved it. He has worked very hard towards this goal, and it has been a dream of a lifetime for him. He is also very talented in music and sings some songs in French as well as being very talented in drama and acting which would be a great avenue for him to express himself in. In addition to his studies in college, he has also held down a front desk job at a very elegant hotel nearby, and I know he does an excellent job there. I also know that the students, teachers and everyone that he would be associated with in France could not have a nicer guy with any more of a sweet demeanor than Josh to relate with. He also is very particular with how he dresses and dresses up almost all the time and always looks extra sharp. He has been told a lot of times that he could be a model. I know for sure that he would represent your college and our country very well. I guess I am saying that I personally don't think that grade point average is the only thing that should be looked at. Thank you so much for reconsidering this decision. Lorrie Wood

I am aware the study of French and France have always been a passion for Joshua Probst. I believe a study abroad would enhance this interest and his education in this field, as well as encourage his academic success. I hope you will reconsider this decision.

Very deserving young man. Sometimes we educators need to look beyond the grades at the person. This is one of those cases.

Please re-consider Josh for this program. I have known Josh and his family for the last 8 years. I believe Josh would be an excellent representive for his college. He is currently working in his major that he always dreamt about. Josh is fluent in French. Please re-consider. You won't regret it.

I may not know any specifics of what you went through but I do know what is like to learn the hard way a major is not for you, and how it feels to have the mistake be a burden on the rest of your future. I had to change schools to fix my situation and I hope this petition will help you so it does not come to that in your case.

As Josh's French teacher in middle and high school, I can attest to the passion and drive of this young man as he pursues his study abroad in France. His persistence to excel personally in the area of French language and culture was simply unparalleled when he was my student and as I continue to follow his academic journey into college. I humbly ask that you consider changing your decision in allowing him to pursue this study abroad opportunity. Sincerely, Angela Hudson
