I recently played at my private course. It is absolutely possible to go and play without violating the social distancing. We don't touch pins or rakes. We carry sanitizing wipes for the cart.

Working from home all week and would like to get some stress relief and cardio going for 4 hours on the golf course. Keep Pin in the hole and no rakes or ball washers. I can manage social distancing on the golf course

I play golf to get exercise and as a way to clear my mind. It is a form of therapy for me. If all courses remain open they can still prevent the spread of COVID-19 by using online forms of payment, raised cups on the putting green, and removing bunker rakes/ball washers.

No reason for golf courses to be closed if they follow the correct guidelines.

Governor Murphy, please reconsider letting golf courses reopen during this crisis. Courses can take precautions by cleaning carts after each use, only letting 1 person in a cart at a time. They can always just let people walk the course, they can restrict payments to credit or debit only. They can set them up to be online. They can certainly eliminate human interaction. Golf will provide exercise, as well as mental stimulation that people need.

To take away golf at a time like this, especially when it’s social distancing at its finest!

Social distancing can be achieved through longer gaps between tee times, other recommendations listed here, and closure of clubhouses. In such a stressful time and limited access to shared spaces, golf courses represent a valuable outlet for the citizens of New Jersey.

Liquor stores and gun shops open, these are essential ?
Do we really want a bunch of drunks with guns running around if things break down ?
Your more exposed going food shopping than playing golf !

As a PGA of america member for 30 years and course operator for the past 20 years, we are in unprecedented times as a professional who provides recreational entertainment. I am in support of the petition as long as clubs follow strict guidelines of interaction, social distancing , and are patient with the process.
