I don’t believe it is right for our state government to tell me who I can and can’t marry! You can’t choose who you love, let alone put love on a gender! They are taking the opportunity for not only me but for all gays to have a normal marriage and family. That’s UN fair. Just because we are gay! That’s discrimination if you ask me! Also, I have lived in Missouri my whole life! I want to have my wedding here and can’t because of a stupid law! And when I do marry my girlfriend I have to go to a state that allows it, but once I cross that state line it means nothing anymore! I don’t agree with this at all and I’m going to fight for what I think is right and I would love to help all gays in Missouri. Im not just doing this for me but every gay wanting the same thing!!!! And we can do it!!! So LETS GO!!!

The United States Supreme Court has repeatedly held that marriage is one of the most fundamental rights that we have as Americans under our Constitution. (Olson 48-54) It is an expression of our desire to create a social partnership, to live and share life's joys and burdens with the person we love, and to form a lasting bond and a social identity. (Olson 48-54) The Supreme Court has said that marriage is a part of the Constitution's protections of liberty, privacy, freedom of association, and spiritual identification. (Olson 48-54) The right to marry helps us to define ourselves and our place in a community. Marriage rights must be extended to gays and lesbians under the law, to make sure that all people receive the human rights that they are entitled to by living in this country. Without them, there can be no true equality under the law. (Olson 48-54)
