The Florida legislature has prevented the issue of Medical Marijuana from being included on a ballot for public vote.

The purposes of this petition are the following: That Governor Rick Scott and other Florida leadership allow the issue of Medical Marijuana to appear on a state ballot sometime in the year 2014. That the Ballot may Include but not limited: to allow for the reclassification of Marijuana from a class 1 narcotic to a class 2 drug allowing for it to be prescribed by medical professionals. As well authorized persons or companies as regulated by the State of Florida be licensed to produce Marijuana subject to taxation and state oversight. That persons prescribed Marijuana by a medical professional be exempt from prosecution within the state justice system for possession or use of Marijuana within their own residences.

This is a Democracy in which the will of the people is the paramount expression of the law. To deny even the ability to vote on a topic that affects so many persons is a sign of disdain of the public. Thinking adults are not sheep to be "lead by the nose".
