The problem of restriction to wear athletic shorts female students face at Sun Valley High School prevents them from becoming educated in a comfortable environment. The reasoning behind this rule is because it “distracts males in the classroom”. Though this may be true, administration should focus on the way males look and think of females while wearing any type of clothing, rather than penalizing the girls. Nike women’s dry tempo running shorts are the most popular among the students at Sun Valley. These shorts have a 3” inseam and stop just above mid thigh. So, on the behalf of the hundreds of females attending Sun Valley High School, we ask that this rule becomes null and void.
