Allow Double Entries Without Limitation at CHCA Events
The Colorado Hill Climb Association Is loved by many for it's opportunities. Many drivers see the CHCA as a way to gain valuable seat time, and tuning time in order to advance their racing careers both in the CHCA, as well as other Race Events such as Rally Colorado, Pikes Peak International Hill Climb and other race events. Recently a rule was adopted by the CHCA That could have far reaching impacts both for the drivers as well as the organization. Double Entries make up a large percentage of the club's funding, and without these funds, the club may not be able to meet its obligations. Furthermore, the club could loose valuable membership dues, and race entries from drivers who do not see the value in only running 1 class or having their runs limited in number, weather they run 1 or 2 classes. In years past, other rules limiting Double Entries have Failed and later been overturned. Most recently a rule was active for the 2024 Racing season which limited a double entrant to running a primary class & Unlimited for their second division. This rule caused a decline in both single and double entries, and caused some long time supporters of the CHCA to opt out of racing in it's series. There should be no rule limiting the way or number of times that a driver may enter in order to promote participation, as well as bring in Monies for the organization.
According to Article 11 Section 2 of the CHCA Bylaws: "Special meetings may be called by the President and must be called by the President at the written request of the majority of directors or the written request of at least ten (10) members in good standing. Calls for special meetings must be in writing and shall give at least four (4) days’ notice, whether personally or by mail to each member of record and in good standing at the time of the call. The notice of the special meeting shall state the purpose of said meeting and no other business shall be in order."
Furthermore, The Members who have signed this petition hereby request that the board of directors call a special meeting to review and return this rule to a vote of the Entire Membership as set forth in the CHCA Bylaws Section 14 which states "The Board of Directors reserves the right to review and return to the General Membership or vehicle division, as it applies, any rule, policy, or procedure which may or may not be in the best interests of the Colorado Hill Climb Association, Inc."
