I think all residential areas should allow for backyard chickens. This is a vital source for food. Chickens are not destructive

Chickens provide not only food. They are excellent at eating ticks and other insects that cause issues.

This is a great area for people to be able to do this -- we have food gardens, we have bees in the township, it's important to allow people this opportunity.

Many communites such as the City of Pittsburgh allow chickens. In a addition to that it allows a valuable teaching tool for children, along with fresh, safe food.

If we want Hampton to be a great place to live, allowing residents to keep chickens should be a no-brainer.

Hopefully times like these magnify the importance of a local food chain and, most of all, of self sufficient citizens. Municipalities that refuse to allow gardens and chickens were perhaps not able to imagine times like these and perhaps that is how we got to this woefully unprepared state. Please think hard about all of the things you can do to allow your citizens to be self sufficient including this.

A few chickens would be fun, educational, and character building!

We would love to be able to have a few pet chickens for some fresh eggs!
