Chickens should be allowed but with restrictions.
Where I used to live, to submit a permit application you needed signatures from anyone you shared a property line with and the city would check your yard once a year or so to make sure you were maintaining it for the safety of the birds and neighbors. I did not own chickens there but knew several people who did and that seemed to work well as a good compromise.

Allowing home owners in oak forest to own chickens would benefit all families by providing fresh eggs & prevent insect infestations as they eat many bugs including ticks!!
