Those of us who want chickens in Oak Forest would certainly do the up keep and maintenance to please our fellow neighbors. We please ask for you to allow us to have fresh eggs we can also share within our community.

As an urban chicken keeper, I would love to see more communities join the movement to repeal antiquated laws that don’t have any place in the year 2020.

I think we should be allowed hens/chickens. It’s our property. They’re quieter and much more harmless than other poets and lots of benefits to owning them such as; controls rodent problems and gives us fresh eggs! What’s better than that?!?!

We’ve had an ordinance in place allowing residents to have chickens on their property for 3 years with no issues. Our family personally have chickens and firmly believe that people should be allowed to provide healthy food for their own families. Chickens are no more problematic than having other pets and are incredibly beneficial. I encourage your government to encourage sustainability and local food movements not only in this time of crisis but as a regular practice.

Chickens can a should be apart of everyone's homes. They provide healthy organic eggs and help teach children a small deal of responsibility. Very easy animals to care for. A dog makes 10 times the amount of noise then a chicken.
