The current code: An “A” board must be located on the property of the business or services being advertised. You may have one sign for every 25 feet of property frontage but they cannot be within 10 feet of a driveway or other access point. Any sign located on a sidewalk must provide at least 5 feet of sidewalk clearance for wheelchair and walking access.
I am seeking to amend this code. To allow for 1 (one) "A"boards to be placed outside of business at the entry, either by the door, driveway, or street. If a business is not off of a main street, to allow for 1 (one) "A"board to be placed at a street corner to help direct potential customers.

On a case by case basis i see no reason not to allow this. "One Accord" is off what would be considered the "main" street. Please allow as a variance with amendments, such as the sign must be removed nightly, it will not impair the sidewalk, it will be visible and not a hazard.
The code in its current state penalizes small businesses not located directly on main thoroughfares.
This would allow new people or visitors easy access to businesses not on the main drag.
Please allow “A” signs

For the sake of increasing Stanwood’s local business economy please allow for A signs during their personal business hours.

I agree..if people can't see what Stanwood offers beyond hwy 532..they don't intentionally come .,My shop is starting year 3..and we've had people come through that have never been in this section of Stanwood...even long time locals..any extra affordable signage such as these placed at stop signs...etc offer knowledge of Stanwoods many small businesses..it would be great to switch boards around for visibility
