I'm so grateful and proud of the amazing college Davidson has grown to be. Learning happens best in an inclusive and emotionally safe environment, and I have seen clear progress towards that end. I recall President Quillen sharing one parent weekend that diversity is not the icing on the cake, but in fact, diversity "is the cake." At this last Wildcat weekend, she shared that we all discover most, when we come together in a state of inquiry, so let us listen to one another and learn. I support the current presidential search process.

Davidson’s racial reckoning has given me ongoing hope and pleased our current senior greatly during his Davidson experience. Young people expect it these days. I strongly urge the board and search committee to hire a president who will keep this work going and push Davidson forward in higher education leadership with racial reconciliation and diversity and inclusion.

Davidson needs to take a huge leap forward to increase diversity among its student body, faculty, and administration. No better place to start than with the Presidential selection!

Proud to see Davidson advancing and becoming a more open and welcoming place!
