I always found it ironic that they reduced the number of bus routes and then immediately turned around and voted to spend a huge sum of money to buy new buses.

Our little ones are our future and it is our duty as a community to keep them safe , period !!

Please provide bussing guy or these young students.

I understand not having kids ride the bus that can see the school but the current situation is not safe for many kids. I am a crossing guard that watches it everyday.

Don’t make young kiddos walk that far. It’s unsafe

I agree it's a ridiculous money grab by school district.. We just increased milage last year.

Keep our kids safe....this isn't a safe situation.

Let’s keep the kids safe! One bad instance is one too many.

The elimination of bus transportation will force our kiddos to walk through a neighborhood filled with construction traffic and without sidewalks for safe walking. This is an unacceptable budget cut.

I would like the bussing back

Allendale needs proper infrastructure (sidewalks and lighting) before we can expect our elementary aged kids to walk to school in the dark.

I would not want my kindergartener to be forced to walk alone to and from school.

I completely agree. The distance that young children are being asked to walk is unacceptable. The neighborhood does not have an adequate number of crossing guards and in the mornings it is difficult to see the children. Additionally, as a homeowner in that area, the increased traffic during those hours has become a major inconvenience. It has become very difficult to get out of my driveway during those times.

I live in this area and it affects home owners with all of the extra traffic and also kids walking to school in the dark. Obviously I pay attention but accidents do happen and I would not be able to live with myself if I hit a child.

I’m not okay with having my 5/6 yr old walk about 1 mile to school each day without supervision.

Moved here to be close to schools but not to be unable to have kids take bus

Please consider developmental appropriateness of children’s ages when designating walking areas. Stop putting our most vulnerable kiddos at risk with street crossing, safety, and navigation requirements not appropriate for their skills.

For all grades!

So many things about these walk zones don't make sense and this isn't safe for our younger students!
