New trial is needed and Judge McDaniel's needs to be removed from the bench. She is nothing but a ruthless ass Bitch. And may GOD have mercy on her soul when her time comes cause she put alot of innocent people away.

Because Shawn is a strong, intelligent man, he spent a lot of time in solitary confinement. We usually had no contact visits.

Statement from Burton’s mother, Juanda Burch, 78, who has stage four colon cancer. She said that she prays that she lives to see the day when her son is free. “My son has always maintained his innocence. It has taken Shawn over 20 years to win the right to appeal the 1993 verdict. His determination to right this injustice has been an inspiration for me and his four adult sons, whom Shawn, for most of their lives, has not been physically present. It’s been a long, long time coming. Despite the seemingly impossible David and Goliath-like odds, I’m confident justice will prevail. I believe I will hold my son in my arms before I die.”
