This petition is about trying to change the ways of the Family Court system. They have a "one size for all" type of system. With Judges who think they have the right to say whatever and treat people however they want simply because they can. They have mediators and clerks who are never on the same page about information. And those that the "one size for all" doesn't work for are left with nothing but frustration and no where to turn. In the current system the children, even those of age, are not even allowed in the courtroom, not allowed to voice their oppinion, or object to anything. This is after all about them and can drastically change their lives. Also, the rights of step parents, which in the eyes of the courts, don't even excist. Even though some step parents, myself included, play a bigger role in the children's lives then their birth parent. Someone has to take a stand against this system, at least try to.  So help me take that stand and change the way this system works, so we can better serve and protect our children.
