Hi, My name is David Roberts and I'm starting this petition because of my utter disgust at the quotes I've been getting for Car Insurance.

To me this is really annoying and aggravating as I have just passed my test on 17th January 2014, I have been driving approximately 7 months on another policy (My mums car as a third named driver) I also have a Pass Plus Certification and even adding that into my quotes, I've had no luck in finding a reasonably priced quote, I have been looking at quotes for 1.2L Cars, Vauxhall Corsa,Fiat Punto,VW Polo etc etc,I have even tried quoting 1.0L and under 1.0L cars to hopefully balance out my quotes and get a better Policy.

I've even tried adding parents as named drivers and still no luck, I am yet to find a quote under £6,500 for a small sized engine car, I've spent endlessdays/weeks/months searching for a policy that I can afford,even the Black Box insurance Policies but they would be no good for me as I'm an Apprentice for Yorkshire Ambulance Service as an Apprentice Ambulance Driver, this really frustrates me as all us Young Drivers are tarred with the same brush and "Statistics" say that we're the most at risk.

In my personal opinion not all of us are, with no offence meant to the elderly generation I would say they are more at risk than Young Drivers as reaction times and thinking distances will be reduced greatly as an unfortunate effect of older age, I demand for something to be done about this as I really need my own transportation to get to and from work and I have to rely on Public Transport.

Trains specifically to get from Sheffield to my place of work, I know that there are more people out there struggling with this and not just me, It really grinds my gears that nobody will offer me a good policy as an effect of my Young Age, to me I find that really offensive as insurance companies are almost Pre-Judging us Young Drivers as if to say we're all boy/girl racers, that is not the case, I can honestly say that my driving is very safe and very cautious as I frequently have to transport my little sister who is on Life Support to and from Hospital.

I would greatly appreciate it if you all could raise awareness of this and get behind this petition, I'm not just asking for Young Drivers to get behind this, simply anyone who agrees with me and wants to take it that step further to bring down Car Insurance for us Young Drivers as it is very unfair and for people such as myself it is Detrimental that something is done about this as I cannot simply keep relying on Public Transport, I want my own freedom to get in my future car and drive to work feeling comfortable that I am paying a good price just like everybody else.

PLEASE get behind this Petition and help me fight the Insurance Companies to hopefully bring down the ridiculous amount of quotes us Young Drivers get!!!.

I mean come on £6,500 for a car thathas got a 1.2L engine ? RIDICULOUS. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to read this and hopefully get behind this petition and do what's right for everyone and not just us Young Drivers.
