The regulations for supervision of medical social workers in nonprofit and for-profit settings should be the same.

The regulations for becoming licensed in for profit settings make it extremely difficult for social workers to become licensed. This needs to be corrected to reflect licensing rules for non profit settings. Social worker are an essential part of health care and all aspects of human services. Their expertise is unique and so necessary and they need rules that support their licensing not make it prohibitive.

I absolutely support this. The BBS needs to consider the different roles Social Workers have when developing guidelines for supervision.

Ia gree that medical social works be under the same guidelines. and protocols in earning their LCSW, regardless of being in a non profit or for- profit setting. It is currently an unfair method and holds Social Workers back who want to excel in their field. It seems highly unusual for this disparity. Please pass new fair laws to enable Social Workers to excel.

I work for a non profit hospital currently, and did not realize this was an issue. Doesn't make any sense to me!

It is long overdue for BBS to break out Social Workers who want to do therapy from those practicing in other fields. There should be different licensing tracks that are more reflective of the experience we've gained, supervision we've received and the work we actually do. This will help clients and colleagues in other fields to better know to whom they should turn to get their needs met.

Becoming a social worker is already hard enough. It’s a difficult career that’s underpaid and under appreciated. I personally had to pay $60/week just to find an LCSW to supervise me. It shouldn’t be this hard for medical social workers.

This is a must! It is imperative that medical social workers get supervision and advance with their license! Please accommodate this special group of social workers!

I'm a MSW II at KP SCL ER. I'd like to obtain clinical supervision to further develop professional skills. However the current supervisor requirements are a complete barrier. I'd hate to think that to become a better SW I have to leave the job I love.

I believe they should move social workers forward and waive the clinical exam for individuals who have completed their hours during covid ... like they have done so with doctors and attorneys
