have no right to cause this devisive
action after all the pioneers have done to enhance their lives. If not for the Europeans they would still be wearing moccasins and hunting with bow and arrows and walking everywhere instead of driving their big trucks and destroying nature wherever they go with their ATVs

Crown land is for everyone to use including native peoples, to take it away from anyone is unfair, including existing provincial parks. There are better ways this can be done.

I believe it is right to negotiate settlements with Indigenous people of Canada because I believe there are debts/obligations owing to right past wrongs. But also because they are first Canadians whom are an integral part of all of us!! Lets work together on a viable solution.
Land claims like this however are divisive, where one group gains at the expense of another on often a personal level. For example, by taking away crown land access and hunting usage from one group to give to another - people are directly impacted (not the Government). This seems to be taking a step back in time. I suggest we offer a solution that provides financial compensation in perpetuity to the AOO such as shares/ownership in Hydro 1 and Canada / Ontario offers to build a University / college with free education for AOO or any Indigenous people which will provide future generations of AOO with the financial means and education to get ahead. If land is what is wanted by the AOO - it can be bought with the dividends received from their shares. There are 1000's of acres of land for sale privately that could be bought by the AOO and leave the crown land for all to enjoy. I've seen with my own eyes many of the pieces of land offered to the AOO in the AIP and these would be very expensive properties to develop - I don't think $300M (less negotiation fees) will go very far - which means even within the AOO communities - some will benefit while others may not. Additionally these claims take so long to negotiate - something less controversial, such as shares in Hydro 1 and building a University could be accomplished in a few years!!! In the end where will the AOO be in 40 years as a result of this land claim - my guess is it won't offer the solutions hoped for. I would urge all side of this discussion to think carefully about the expected outcomes we are trying to obtain for all stakeholders involved and lets think beyond "land" as being the necessary currency. WOW talk about misinformation. The AIP has been public since day 1. There has been years of public consultation with municipalities, cottage associations etc... Have you been sleeping through all of this?????
You also may want to check your math as the land does not equate to hundreds of acres per enrolled voter nor is the land being transferred to individuals. You should all be ashamed for speaking without knowing the facts. I am Algonquin/ Nipissing and my wish is to one day sit across from all of you and offer insight that you are dearly lacking.

This agreement, completed behind closed doors is far too complicated and far too damaging to even be considered by non-natives. We should have a say in the matter. This is everyone's land and not that of a small group of suits to throw on the table as a give away. It equates to hundreds of acres to each recipient on top of a disproportionate amount of money - our money. No way!!

One set of hunting and fishing regulations (draws) should apply to everyone. There should be no hunting allowed by anyone in the Provincial Parks
