We, the undersigned petitioners, witness to the fact that Alfred State College has consistently created an unsafe environment for students.  As a result of pure incompetence, the facilities services has refused to shovel, plow, etc. the snow that has fallen on parking lots, sidewalks, and outdoor steps especially.  In addition to their failure to clear the snow, we have found that they have also refused to remove ice from the walkways.  We believe that the problem resides among a few of the workers, forcing us to demand the firing of incompetent workers.  We the student body at Alfred State College demand a safe walking environment to and from classes, without hazardous conditions resulting from the failure of college employees to do their jobs.  We demand the immediate firing of any and all persons involved in this snow scandal!

The momentum generated by this petition demonstrates a clear consensus regarding the unacceptable state of our campus infrastructure. It is evident that the current lack of safety measures is a primary concern for the entire student body.

I almost broke my neck twice just getting from the parking lot to the academic building this morning. Totally ridiculous that they pay tuition for this.
