it looks like a bird could live in there honestly someone get this guy a barber he looks like he hasnt slept in a month because of the split ends

Please help my son in receiving the treatment that he needs. Our family is being torn apart by that monster on his head. He's been having nightmares every night and he tells us that if I cut it off, it will kill him. Please help!
