Letter to MP David Miliband about the case: Dear Mr. Miliband, I am writing to you as my MP to protest the attempted deportation of Aleksey Kirienko. I have been working with this young man on a film project (www.ali-in-wonderland), a teen film about the asylum experience made for young people in schools as part of the Key Stage 3 Citizenship Curriculum. As my MP, I would like you to be aware of the unfortunate practices which are undertaken at the Home Office. This makes Britain seem a very unjust place in the eyes of our foreign counterparts. I urge you to help bring attention and justice to this unfortuante case. Aleksey is a caring, conscientious and remarkably talented young man. In the 8 years that I have been working with Asylum Seekers and Refugees in the role of Filmmaker & Trainer, I have never met as charming, conscientious or bright young man as him. Alexsey is the one who would rush off help someone when his own task was done or the last to stay behind when a class was over and help me carry equipment upstairs. In fact, for a time he volunteered in my production company as an assistant. He also makes me laugh often, has a insatiable desire to learn and he is a bright energy to have in the room. I canâ
