Clearly had a fantastic performance and yes others fell by the wayside Alain should always have his bronze medal. He always has in my eyes!!

Not a deliberate act...no real advantage gained...not in the spirit of true sportsmanship

A minor mistake and a overly harsh penalty in the context of current drug in sport issues.

Followed this with interest for years and was always disappointed at lack of common sense showed with 'experts' with vested interest preferring to stick to a careless wrong chemical definition when everyone with sense knew the isomer contained by Alain's erroneously used nasal decongestant was pretty much known to be inactive and gave no performance enhancement like it's powerful acting relation.

Alan fell foul of a stupid, inflexible regulation. IOC should give him back his well earned medal and concentrate on catching snd banning the real cheats doing their best to destroy so many sports.
