I am a born Alaskan and lived here all my life, however, if someone moved here and pays taxes perhaps they should receive a PFD. I mean, people boost our economy with spending there hard earned dollars here, why shouldn't they get a part of the revenue they so abundantly spent.

Ive always thought this. And people from the lower 48 actually think that it is once a month that we would get free money. They have no idea why and that they have to live in Alaska for a full year before you're allowed to fill.

It should have been only for born descendents from the start...

It's our money. From our native corporations. And there are more white people in our places trying to take over Alaska. Yea USA bought Alaska. But it's still our native lands.

I disagree with this to extremes and I hope it does not get passed. Military bust their asses for years to save your lives and unless they get it extended, they only serve 3 year tours per duty station. I should know because my father was in the military. No, most don't choose to come up here, but you're really going to punish someone who is fighting to save your live.?? Stupid. We bust our asses just like "alaska-born" residents do to keep this state afloat. So to take away something that we earned is not right. So you can take this petition and shove it were the sun don't shine. Taking away something that everyone busts their ass for is like everyone taking it away from "alaska-born" residents. So this is the stupidest petition I've ever seen in my life. I've been up here since I was 8 and I am almost 22. So no I don't agree with this in the least amount.

But if it's residents with immediate family and/ or have been there for 3 years or more, then they should be able to apply.

Okay I agree with this somewhat. I think that Alaska born residents should definitely get the PFD if not a little more then the non born residents. If its military that are only stationed in AK then no I don't believe they should get it since they are not there by choice.

Agreed! Good way to keep in state residents successful with intentions to use that success to better the state!

I'm 24 years old and have lived in Alaska for 16 years of my life. I'm an alaskan. Just because I wasn't born here doesn't mean I'm not alaskan. Plus who moves here just for the pfd?

At least make it for people who plan on staying for the rest of their life.
