This is how my native people of Alaska get by when it comes to getting food and supplies for the winter and it helps during hard times, especially for our elders.

My parents drug me to Alaska when I was 12 years old. I didn't want to come up here but I made this place my home I work up here spend all my money up here and I even bought my first home up here from what everything goes I am a Alaskan I don't have to have a certain bloodline to be an Alaskan I put lots of money into the economy and my family is raised here. If it wasn't for all the people that has move to Alaska Alaska wouldn't be as it is now there wouldn't be a dividend it would be just like the villages. Quit popping off with the someone owes me attitude. You act like you don't get anything just for natives what about the free healthcare and even some of you get share checks at the end of the year.

As I agree that people come up to Alaska for the PFD'S, I don't think it is fair to say that people like my father who moved to Alaska when he was 16 (turning 63 this year, making that 47 years of residency ) shouldn't be eligible for the PFD and or are not Alaskan.
I think that if people had to prove/show that they have been an Alaskan resident for, say about 10 years, then I think this would be more of a realistic ideal instead of the on the surface wet dream it is currently presented to be... It is nice to think about but will probably never happen.
