Sea-Tac Airport Impact Study

Concern for our health, environmental health, noise levels, property values. The Port of Seattle is enlarging the Airport when based on the size of ground available and residential area surrounding it we are tapped out an they need to stop pushing more at us that live around the area. Just stop enough is enough!

Please support the budget proviso proposed by Representatives Mike Pellicciotti and Tina Orwall which calls for an Airport Impact Study. It has been over twenty years since the last airport impact study was done. Sea Tac Airport is currently the fastest growing airport in the United States. According to the Century Plan, Sea Tac Airport is planning to add more passenger traffic than Dallas Fort Worth has, yet The Dallas Fort Worth airport has seven runways (compared to our three) and has over 17,000 acres (compared to our 2,500 acres). This astounding and dangerous growth rate in such a small space will increase the already unbearable noise and health impacts on the communities beneath the flight paths. How can such a massive growth rate even be considered without a full impact mitigation study? This study must be done by Washington State and the surrounding airport cities with no connection to and zero funding or any financial support from the Port of Seattle. As a community member, voter and community advocate I urge you to support Representative Pellicciotti and Representative Orwall's Airport Impact Study budget proviso. The Port's 3rd Runway EIS made unrealistic assumptions that allowed them to not provide mitigation when that runway was built. The impact study should show that the Port's EIS was a sham document and dramatic mitigation was required.

You are polluting all over us. Alternate routes instead of being directly over what was once my quiet country home. Increase your altitude as you fly to low. Stop waking me up early in the morning! Let me go to sleep at night! STOP flying all flights above my home!

Sea-Tac International Airport has been the fastest growing airport in the United States for several years and the 6th fastest growing airport in the world. Add Sea-Tac's major expansion plan and the removal of thousands of trees either for "safety" or the Port's own property development, trees that were in fact planted under the FAA's own 1978 "Airport Landscaping for Noise Control". A program which was cancelled by the FAA without reason and more importantly without consideration to the impacts on the surrounding communities, but cancelled nonetheless by the FAA in 2010.

The City of SeaTac 2018 Supplemental Operating Budget Proviso Request: Airport Impact Study More than 20 years have passed since the last airport study was completed  As the host to Washington State’s largest international airport, the City of SeaTac is proud to welcome the many travelers entering and leaving our state. As the SeaTac International Airport expands, SeaTac International Airport surrounding communities request funding to continue to be a strong, welcoming community.  Twenty years ago, when the third runway was in its planning stages, the State conducted the Sea-Tac International Airport Impact Mitigation Study, which found that “costs associated with these [airport] improvements are disproportionately borne by those communities immediately surrounding the airport.”  The purpose of the study is to establish a point-in-time baseline of both positive and negative community and economic impacts and provide objective data to communicate this information to the residents of the cities and other interested parties Now is the time for an update to the study  The Sea-Tac International Airport is the 6 th fastest growing airport in the world.  It’s the 9 th busiest airport in the United States (2014).  Passenger levels increased approximately 13% from 2014.  On-site activity of the airport supports 32,000 jobs.  In 2013, $565 million in state and local tax revenue was generated.  The Port of Seattle’s Sustainable Airport Master Plan envisions further expansion of the airport in the coming years

Stop the madness. It is going to take a major catastrophe to wake up the decision makers for the airport. These numbers are absurd. The airport is out of control and stressful. The noise is nonstop and the damage to house values and our health are immeasurable.

I support this petition for the impact study of SeaTac airport.

The irresponsible abuse of our airspace above us without any regard for those that live directly under the highly concentrated FAA NextGen air routes purely for airline and PoS profit ($22B regional impact 2017 alone) is enough to make me want to throw up. The current southern departure for Asian routes that turn west and then out over the Des Moines, Federal Way, Dash Point, Brown’s Point and NE Tacoma at unnecessarily low altitude while maneuvering is a hazard; if you view this route on a map you’ll see it isn’t possible to actually overfly any more inhabitants than this situation. Simply flying a few miles further south and higher altitude prior to turning would put all that traffic over industrial areas and not over human and wild life. Keep business over business and let the rest of us affected be able to live in reasonable peace!

Seatac airport's growth plan simply are undoable without serious impact to the surrounding community. I've lived at the north end for almost 20 years. We have more noise and vibration, certainly more dust. Despite POS protests to the opposite, the planes are coming in lower, creating more wake turbulence on the ground. And the POS does nothing to help the surrounding neighborhoods that bear the increased traffic and decreased quality of life.

Sea-tac is already way to busy. Send the planes North, South ,East ,or West. NO MORE to SEATAC. That or buy my house for fair valve.

With so many more airplanes flying over Puget Sound, I’m worried about the impacts of ultra fine particles. Boats in the marina are even covered with soot.

It is time for them to come and do all the windows for all who have the planes fly over them... some time the nose is so loud. just like they did back in 1980...

They have illegally changed their flight patterns to have huge jumbo jets immediately divert directly over houses and fly way too low for God awful hours of the day and night. When I first moved here it was not this bad. Then one day everything suddenly changed and it felt like planes were going to crash into my home and it hasn’t stopped. All day and almost all night my home shakes from the planes. Please help stop this unfairness.

The airplane noise and pollution in the last year has trippled now that they have illegally started using the furthest nw runway. Also now that they have built warehouses the plane are flying extremely low. It not right.
