Apple just released the new "Mountain Lion" MacOS X 10.8 Operating System. Apple decided to promote AirPlay Mirroring as one of the key features in Mountain Lion, which allows to view the screen of your Mac on your TV using AppleTV.
A lot of people like me realized just after upgrading to Mountain Lion that AirPlay Mirroring actually does not work on their Mac. The reason: This function is only working with Macs from 2011 or newer.
Unfortunately Apple did not inform properly about this circumstance, just in a gray and small footnote. Many people who just upgraded to Mountain Lion just because of AirPlay Mirroring are upset.
What makes it even worse: There is no technical reason for that limitation. 3rd party apps show that it is definitely possible from the hardware side of older Macs.
This gives me the bad taste of being ripped off with Mountain Lion. Do you feel ripped off as well?
What is the purpose of this petition? I want Apple to offer this feature for every Mac which can run Mountain Lion! Please sign this petition to help getting our voice heard!
