This petition is for the gathering of signatures to present to the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission, who has been kind enough to consider the possibility of legalizing big game hunting with an airgun in the state of Nebraska. The types of airgun allowed for big game hunting would most likely be larger than 44 caliber and need to be a pneumatic airgun, in order to ensure the weapon has enough power to humanely harvest big game. The Game and Parks Commission has been very generous in their willingness to consider adding this new method for the taking of big game in Nebraska, and has asked that signatures be gathered so they can have an estimate of how much interest there may in the matter.

This would be a nice option to have but personally would like it limited to the rifle or late doe season. We already allow too many days to harvest deer during one yr.
I think air gun hunting should be opened up to smaller game as well as big game.
If you can kill them with a spear, why not an airgun during rifle?!
Mike It is currently only being considered for use during modern rifle season. Maybe that could be expanded in the future, but for right now it looks like modern rifle will where it's at. James

i been hunting with airgun for year . i have lived in my states that it is legal and have shot small game , turkeys,coyotes foxs and even a ortrich they all went down fast and humanely . i usually go for head shots
