The city of Hamlet has acres of land in close proximity to the potential commercial site. This property has many bodies of water, part of the water system, that are at risk of contamination.

I am raising a family in the area. I don't want to worry about the air they are breathing.

Just because we’re a low income, small county doesn’t mean you can pollute our area. What is the benefit of these jobs when it could harm the future of our county?

I live near the Madison GRP Biomass Plant, Colbert GA. This plant chipped & burned carcinogenic creosote RR ties for power production. The fugitive emissions from the chipping of Creosote RR ties polluted our water, air, and our lungs and resulted in numerous GA EPD violations. In Aug 2020, burning RR ties for power production was banned statewide!
