AIBA must stop age discrimination in amateur boxing!

If you can box professionally at an older age then so should amateurs. If we are fit and healthy, why should we be told when we have to retire.

If you pass all the medical checks then there shouldn't be any issues!

Age shouldn't determine that you are not the champion. Championships should. A blanket age limit will also not ensure safety, it is a case by case situation. One might be 29 and unfit to compete.

I'm also 40 and trying to be a kickboxing champ, but I would love to do boxing but my age is a problem.

Monika is fitter than many people half her age and been a fighter all her life. Dont discriminate without knowing the facts

Age should not be a barrier, this seems totally unfair. If assured to be capable and willing to compete , medically fit and aware and consent to the risks then age should not the stop.

Age is just a number the rule should not be a determinant factor for someone willing to compete and is on elite level.

Extensive medical s should be taken before ruling someone out if fighting rather than age
