Test the top 5 in at least 5 age groups per race. Select the age group randomly so it's different every race. That is 25 tests per race. Do it every 70.3 and every Ironman.

That's exactly what I thought when competing in Hawaii 2016. If so many triathletes are willing to blatantly draft (cheat), what would really stop them to take a few drugs here and there (incognito)? Comparing to triathlon racing 30 years ago ( 1980's), I feel a great deal of "rotten" triathletes have invaded what used to be a beautiful (because fair and ethical) competition.

To keep costs down take samples for all podium places and then you just need to test x% of these. If you are doping you are playing with relatively short odds that you will get tested.
