AGroupers want more AG Doping Testing. Lets not be naïve, Not only Pros dope, AG dope too, perhaps even more. We ask Ironman to perform out of competition surprise testing. We want World 70.3 and IM AG Podium Top 3 Finishers tested. We want Fair Races!
As athletic performances of professional and top AG triathletes continue to improve, a ground swell of triathletes are requesting that IRONMAN seriously enforce the Anti-Doping policy for the 70.3 and Ironman World Championships AG winners. All AG winners in these races need to be drug tested. All triathletes need to be held accountable.
We continue to hear more and more about doping within the AG ranks and there is frustration throughout the triathlon community that it is not being addressed fully. As our sport continues to evolve, we want to make sure there is equity, fairness, and that no one is getting an unfair advantage through blood doping and/or illegal drugs.
We ask IRONMAN to take a firm stand now to ensure that all AG 70.3 and IM World Champions are not cheating. Standing on the podium as a world champion AG athlete requires months and months of hard work, so we need to be sure that our ethics are maintained at all levels throughout the sport. Enforcing the Anti-Doping policy is the right thing to do, so let's stop talking about it and let's act! We welcome your thoughts and recommendations relative to this situation that can undermine the future of our sport!

I have been on 15 WTC AG podiums including 2 World Championship podiums and have never been tested. I have on 2 occasions contacted the WTC anti doping email to ask specific questions about meds and have NEVER had a response. (USADA answered my questions but not a word from Ironman.)

Should’ve been done long time ago. This is a serious problem that’s been going on for decades. It takes much dedication, hrs of training and making many sacrifices to qualify for a WC or slot in Kona so that it may be taken away by someone who’s cheating by doping.
I think there are many doping age-groupers flying under the radar. Just the shear numbers of Ironman age groupers willing to cheat by drafting is in my mind, a sign of being willing to do whatever it takes to podium/win a Kona slot.
So overdue. I agree whole heartedly. Make IM and 70.3 Age Group racing fair. There are cheaters out there for sure. So unfair for those putting in the hard yards and racing clean only to have their chance at a podium dashed by a doped up rogue. I'll pay an extra $10 on my race entry to help fund it.

Not controlling doping forces those who want to compete to risk their long term health to keep up with those always searching for an edge. Remove temptation and test everyone on the podium of each AG of every race..... please.
