Petition against the Planned Mosque in Dudley

Why build such a huge project that will be used by such a small percentage of the local community. Unless the plans are for a longer game to ultimately change the face and identity of this historic Black Country Town and surrounding areas.

 It is a real issue to see how the planning has been forced through against the wishes of tens of thousands of local Dudley people. We should all stand together and not be manipulated by the Labour council who are just after the ethnic minority vote! Dudley people stand up for your right to have a voice in your country...people have fought for this country for your democratic right - us it! It is not racism it's democracy.

Do we need more mega mosques built in this country? Well I firmly believe the answer to that question is NO. Not out of any anti muslim sentiments at all but because I believe there are already enough/too many of these edifices in our country. Because I believe parts of this country are losing their English identity (parts of the Midlands particularly), Because in many parts of the islamic world it would be unthinkable to build a christian church and christians are persecuted in many of the countries of those who would worship in the mosques they wish to build here. Because many people are tired of the asian ghettos (just look around Birmingham) that evolve around mosques, because mosques DO attract other muslims to live in their proximity. BUT; mostly I object because too many radical muslims want to impose their way of life on whole swathes of the country and the more mosques we allow the greater that threat becomes. Just my opinion.

Definitely no to this building and similar. As long as these places can harbour people who don't CHERISH the rights we ALL have here and want to change MY BELOVED country into some place THEY LEFT originally then, ABSOLUTELY NOT.

the proposed mosque is in a much to prominent position , i find it hard to accept that it could feasibly "LOOK DOWN" on the church at top church , a symbolic gesture im not comfortable with ,its too big ,im no racist but we live in britain with its thousand year history , and these buildings do not sit comfortably in the local area ,but as we all know the council will buckle under the "equal rights " umbrella

There are other large mosques and it is not the right area for amother large mosque.It will increase the amount of traffic which is already a busy area.

Current climate in Uk at the moment, not a gd idea. Now money is involved its changed? Listen to ppl in dudley we do not want this and we dont need it. Town is poor as it is... I'm not prejudice. I fail to see why the mosque has to be there when other sites have been offered. As for use by the whole community? I don't see how this can be possible because of the religious implications.

The people of Dudley have stated in their thousands that we do not want, or need,another mosque in the area.They have made agreements and not kept to them.they have been to courts and lost and now they offer bribe money.

I echo the sentiments of all the persons above, that this mosque is not wanted and enough petitions have gone in telling Dudley Council this, what part of democracy don't they understand? The Council is trying to promote the town to tourists as being a traditional market town overlooked by its historic castle and tourist attractions of the Zoo and the Black Country Museum. This alien structure is totally out of keeping with that image. Further the attempt by the Dudley Muslim Association to offer £325,000 out of court offer to drop legal proceedings should be rejected by Dudley Council and they should take back procession of the land in Hall Street as no building was started by the original date set. The legal proceedings should only cover the transfer of ownership back to the Council. I appeal to the scrutiny board to reject this underhanded approach by the DMA to save on their own legal costs and the Council in making short term gain on reducing their own legal costs and carry out the will of the indigenous population that no mosque be ever be erected in Dudley town centre.

There are already enough mosques in the area, this one will wreck the skyline dominated by Top Church. Interesting to hear about another possible Muslim grooming gang operating in Coventry and Leicester by the way...
